hello all.... i have been procrastinating on giving my first mpc a go.... i have a bunch of pieces that are crappy,so i know i won't lose anything by hacking the job,but still i have not started.... i have some extra time and still i don't do it.... refacers tell me i need a couple of years and a 100 blanks to work on before i even get the concept and yet still i don't.... any wise words to help me get started....? cheers,philip

I only ruined the first mouthpiece that I worked on. The next 20-30 were passable but probably had slightly convex tables. I was not really checking for it very well. Watch my videos on YouTube. Also look in the files section on the Yahoo Group site for lists of steps you should follow when refacing. You can use a wand tip gauge. I would not consider buying a different one until you get started.
