I just won a HR Conn Eagle soprano mouthpiece on eBay with a cracked tip that I will be repairing. This is my first time attempting this repair.
 

 Are there any tips, suggestions or videos on this? Mojo, I looked through your Youtube channel but didn't find anything on this specific repair.
 

 I have JB Weld, but would prefer to use something black to match the color of the mouthpiece a little better. Any specific material suggestions?

Hi MikeI and in Europe and use Permatex COLD WELD that is similar to JB Weld and black color!Have used it for MP applications and worked great.
Maybe this helps.

I just got back from my dentist (in Mexico).  I broke my dentures twice.  The second time, I repaired them with the pink denture repair powder and solvent, then covered it with Graphite fabric, then more of the repair kit.  I don't know how well it would take color, or if it would stick to hard rubber, but it worked so good that the dentist thought his lab had made the repair.  It is guaranteed to be non toxic too...

I have several photo spreads showing steps to repair a chipped tip.  Some of my web site and some on Facebook.  I'm not sure if I made a video on this or not.  After 50, I can not remember them all.

I tried using black acrylic once to repair a tip.  It did not work.  Broke off as I was trying to shape it.

Mojo, thanks for the reminder about all the photos you have on your website and on Facebook. Very helpful!! I'm looking forward to getting to work on this when the piece arrives! 

 While on FB I saw a photo of a long black epoxy shank extension you did from March of 2010. You mentioned it was an experiment (doing it all with epoxy and no reinforcement). Do you know if it has held up, now almost 5 years later?

I guess it held up.  I was never contacted again about it.  

I have always used a metal sleeve since then.  I like the insurance.

Hi to all, I am in EUrope and having trouble finding a non toxic ( when fully cured) black epoxy. 
 I need something strong and nontoxic for a serious tip chip repair.
 

 I've been using Milliput Black epoxy putty for baffle work, but not sure if it's strong enough for tip repairs.
 

 Is there anything you'd recommend?
