SUBJECT: mouthpiece 'fuzzy' sound
hey guys, so I recently got a Selmer metal jazz mouthpiece c** on a vandoren jazz 3.5 reed and I noticed that the sound I get is kinda fuzzy and then when I play my Vadoren TL3, on the same reed, the sound is very clean and crisp. Any ideas on what I should do to fix the problem?

Measure both facing curves and compare them.

Find a reed that works with the Selmer mouthpiece.  You have obviously found one for the TL3.  There is no reason to believe the same reed will work for both pieces.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!

I agree also that the same reed may not work well on different
mouthpieces. Try different reeds, that's the easiest possible solution.

Another ploy is to try adding a removable baffle insert, eg. as seen in
the Runyon mouthpieces. I do not think the metal tail ("spoiler") is
necessary in order to get a sound with a little more bite to it, which
may be what you're looking for.
