Yes it is interesting but it is what I think most of us would do anyway. The only thing that I do different is to take a modern 6* Link out to an 8 and then use the baffle that is left high instead of using epoxy. A bit more work but a lot more reliable.

like he knows what he is talking about and his prices are very reasonable

Steve, I do similar work on Links, but go a step further and also fill in the sidewalls so that they are flat, too.

The result is a focused tone, faster response, and a brigher tone without being harsh.

I think they're pretty good ;)
I think I get much better results this way than from the step baffles a lot of us have been putting in Links for a long time.  It's a lot more of a job, though.  
Obviously it's not groundbreaking work -- I'm not the first and can't be the only one doing Links like this.  Ultimately the results (as with anything we do) are all in the quality of the craftmanship.

Yeah, it's 6 of one, half dozen of the other how to get the baffle long enough.  I figure since I'm filling the floor in already I might as well use it for a bit of baffle as well.
