Anybody know if the student line stock Yamaha mouthpiece is plastic or 
hard-rubber?

Hi Erik,

I have a Yamaha 4C, I think it's a stock piece. It is plastic.

Yamaha mouthpieces are plastic, but much harder than the ABS style 
mouthpieces used by many other companies for their standard fare.  
Itis more like a bakelite type of material.
