Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacment necks for a Yamaha tenor? There seem to be more choices that I realized. Does anyone have a neck they would be willing to part with? There is a company making wooden necks... any info? Thanks, Herschel McWilliams

Never tried it myself. On my Pre Chu Berry the Yanagisawa neck performs great and is better in tune then a original neck. Cheers. Anthony

Tim Price, the most requested clinician for Selmer, and great all around woodwind player, uses the wood necks. I think they are made in Turkey. He loves it. Herschel, email me directly, I'll put you in touch with Tim. Paul hhm478 wrote: > Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacment necks for a Yamaha > tenor? Necks are something I have studied and experimented with for years. They are the heart of the saxophone's sound, IMHO. They are absolutely NOT interchangable or "one size fits all". There are MANY variables, and you should carefully research any changes you are considering. absdefghijklmnopqrst Steve Goodson "TEMPORARILY IN HURRICANE EXILE" WWW.SAXGOURMET.COM <http://www.saxgourmet.com/> ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQ -----Original Message----- From: MouthpieceWork@yahoogroups.com [mailto:MouthpieceWork@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of nmn2m Sent: Saturday, September 24, 2005 2:46 PM To: MouthpieceWork@yahoogroups.com Subject: [MouthpieceWork] Re: Tenor Necks - off topic --- In MouthpieceWork@yahoogroups.com, "hhm478" <hhm478@y...> wrote: > Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacment necks for a Yamaha > tenor? They're made in Greece, and don't fit or work on every horn. However, they ones they do fit get pretty interesting results. They're expensive, and you have to take care against cracking (I've seen some that have split), but they play nicely on recent production Selmers. The sound they produce is a matter of taste: Some like it, some do not. absdefghijklmnopqrst Steve Goodson "TEMPORARILY IN HURRICANE EXILE" WWW.SAXGOURMET.COM <http://www.saxgourmet.com/> ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQ -----Original Message----- From: MouthpieceWork@yahoogroups.com [mailto:MouthpieceWork@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Paul Coats Sent: Saturday, September 24, 2005 7:07 PM To: MouthpieceWork@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [MouthpieceWork] Tenor Necks - off topic Tim Price, the most requested clinician for Selmer, and great all around woodwind player, uses the wood necks. Here are some prices and pics: http://www.robertoswoodwind.com/store/p.asp?c6 Necks do make a difference. But I have always prefered my original necks to others I have tried, unless the original was dented a lot.
