I just got possession of a metal Berg tenor mouthpiece (to sell for 
someone) which has no bite plate.  With the  owner's permission I am 
going to try to create one from dental acrylic.  I'll take pictures and 
keep you all posted.  Looking at the size and shape of the indent for 
the bite plate, it looks like it will work.
